The lower eyelid skin collapses with age due to the loss of fat, hyaluronic acid and supporting tissue. Since the subcutaneous tissue is very thin, this collapse manifests itself as dark circles under the eyes and tear trough deformity. These deformities are caused by the height difference between the eyelid and cheek junction.

This area is an area that needs to be worked carefully and with very little filling. There are two important reasons for this extreme focusing. One of them is the bad appearance of the superficial mold product due to thin skin (Tyndall Effect), the other reason is the vascular damage that may occur during injection to this area.

Giving widespread and homogeneous tissue support with less viscous hyaluronic acid filling is the most correct approach in the treatment of under-eye collapse and tear troughs. The injection depth should be felt between the tissue layers and the product to be applied should be adjusted according to the patient's problem. Blunt cannula in the injection technique is recommended to prevent vascular damage. In this way, both the risk of vascular damage is minimized and the control of the injection site becomes easier. 

The patient who has had under-eye fillers should avoid massaging the area or rubbing the eyes for a while. Likewise, hot or extremely cold environments such as sauna or steam room should be avoided for at least 15 days. 

If attention is paid to the as before mentioned and the right amount of product is used, this is a low-risk procedure with very satisfactory results. It takes about 10-15 minutes.
